Melissa, she/her, is represented by Stars the Agency in both LA and the Bay Area.  She can be seen in national commercials and in the award-winning feature film, East Side Sushi, written and directed by Anthony Lucero.  Other memorable credits include playing "Jo" opposite the hilarious Joel Dauten in the feature film Remember Me starring EGOT winner, Rita Moreno, as well as onstage at American Conservatory Theatre in Monstress - the first time ever playing characters that were her actual ethnicity.

REPRESENTATION MATTERS!   

Most meaningful was her role as "Chiz", the loving yet wild middle sister, in Sisters Matsumoto by Philip Kan Gotanda at Center Rep alongside her colleagues-slash-AAPI family, directed by Mina Morita.  In response to the rising violence against Asians and Asian Americans, the original 2017 cast/director/stage manager organized and revived the beloved play about the aftermath of Japanese Internment as a virtual staged reading to raise funds for Asian Americans Advancing Justice/Asian Law Caucus.  

With extensive commitment and performance experience at the Saint Louis Black Rep and the Red Ladder Theatre Company, she toured across the nation, bringing rich storytelling and improvisation to hundreds of underserved communities.  

Melissa is honored to play a variety of diverse American characters while putting her unique, imaginative, energetic, and emotionally deep stamp in the artistic world as a Filipina American.

  Melissa is a passionate educator with over 20 years of experience empowering individuals across various

age groups, specializing in Meisner technique, acting, improvisation, on-camera, auditioning, and script analysis.

A proud member of MALI (Multicultural Arts Leadership Institute of Silicon Valley), FANHS (Filipino American National Historical Society of Silicon Valley), and President of Pinay Aspirations, supporting high school graduates with mentorship & scholarships, Melissa is committed to exploring & honoring her ancestors' legacy through acting, teaching, and engagement.  

When she's not acting, you can find her practicing and teaching yoga, reading, hiking amongst the redwoods, meditating, supporting fellow artists, eating nachos, or laughing/dancing/singing with her amazingly creative family & hilarious BFFs.  

Melissa is currently living & WFH on the occupied territories of the Muwekma, Ohlone, and Tamien Nation tribes. With gratitude, we honor the land itself and the Native peoples who have stewarded it throughout the generations.
